Leadership in Fellowship and Training

LIFT is a summer program that helps you grow deeper in Christ, grow your gifts, and explore what Gospel ministry could look like for you. Over a few weeks you’ll share life with others, be trained in God’s Word, and get involved in the daily work of church. It’s a chance to step aside from normal routines, be stretched, and see how God might use you in His harvest.
At Christ Community Church, we long to see men and women raised up as disciple makers—equipped to serve both here in Brisbane and across the world. Since planting in 2004, God has enabled us to send missionaries to many nations and help plant churches across Queensland. LIFT is one of the ways we prepare people for a lifetime of Gospel service.
What You'll Experience
- Learn and grow through Bible studies, book discussions, and historic Christian teaching
- Join in staff prayer and meetings to see how ministry is shaped by God’s Word
- Take part in sermon preparation and weekly church ministry
- Share in pastoral care, follow-up, and evangelism as you serve alongside the team
Have a go at real ministry in areas that suit your skills and interests—like kids and youth, event planning, design, communications, or supporting new church initiatives.
LIFT is designed as an immersive, almost full-time experience—you’ll get a real feel for what it’s like to be part of a church ministry team.
- Four Days Together: about 8 hours a day, four days a week, spent in training, study, and practical ministry.
- Shared Life: expect plenty of lunches, coffee catch-ups, and time to reflect and encourage one another.
- Room for Flexibility: while it’s designed to be your main focus for those weeks, there’s still space if you need to fit in some casual work or other commitments.
It’s a concentrated burst of learning and serving, designed to help you see ministry up close and imagine how God might use you in His harvest.
