Pete is thankful that God is merciful. Even though Pete has rebelled against God, he is blown away that Jesus took the punishment for that rebellion. He is even more amazed that he doesn’t have to do anything to earn God’s forgiveness, but simply trusts that Jesus paid the price on the cross. Pete reckons it is a privilege to teach people about Jesus and is passionate about helping people respond to the wonders of God’s grace in Christ. Pete is married to Carly and has thee children.
Karl’s heart has been captured by the love of Jesus, who was prepared to lay His own life down for rebels and ragamuffins like himself. He now labours to help others discover and grow in following this radically gracious God. Karl enjoys spending time with his wife Jenny, his son and daughter, sharing a meal with friends, watching a good movie and playing pretty much any sport.
Andrew is still astounded by God’s grace to us in Christ. Even though he had heard about Jesus’ life, death and resurrection from the earliest years of his life, it was only in 2009 that he really came to understand the need for God’s mercy, and grasp what Jesus had done for him. His heart is still touched by a line in a song he sang on his first Sunday back in church: “As I stand here face to face, with a God of grace and mercy, you’re the one who took my place, set me free.”
These days, Drew delights in helping others find the forgiveness, freedom, purpose, assurance and joy that is only available in Christ. He is married to Debb, and loves spending time with her and his three kids, Mitch, Millie & Rachael. He’s also a Broncos fan, a keen ping pong player, a reluctant but improving cyclist, and a raving fan of the kebab shop he’s discovered opposite our church office.
Matt loves it when things are running smoothly, people are working well together as a team and individuals are using their God given gifts to their full potential. Which is a good thing, because his role for Christ Community it to serve the church by enabling these things to happen.
Ben is passionate about following Jesus authentically and seeing lives transformed by the power of the Good News about Jesus Christ. He’s currently undertaking a two-year traineeship focusing on youth and young adults to test his gifts and suitability for full-time ministry. Jonathan is passionate about how our weekly congregational worship gatherings play a vital role in the life of every believer. Not only do they provide a regular opportunity to gather as God’s people in worship of Him, but they also contribute significantly to our spiritual formation as followers of Christ. Therefore, what we do when we worship together really matters! It matters for God’s glory, our good, and as a powerful testimony of God’s grace to our visiting guests. We must be constantly reminded of the Gospel as it empowers us to live our lives unto the glory of God in worship of Him.
Moving to Brisbane in January 2017, Jonathan has a wonderfully compassionate wife named Emily and an energetic 2-year old son named Nathan who loves to sing probably even more than he does!
Bek loves working with women by pointing them to what Jesus is doing in their lives, and the lives of those around them, by His Spirit. She wants them to know who His is, that He is worthy of all our praise and the source and object of all our hope. She is a ministry trainee, learning how to serve the church well in this way. Bek is married to Jordan and has four children.
